Australia...

I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,

Of ragged mountain ranges,

Of droughts and flooding rains.
I love her far horizons,
I love her jewel-sea,
Her beauty and her terror -
The wide brown land for me!

Those are some gut wrenching pics Bear. I have been watching the news and tears have been flowing all evening. No-one should ever have to experience what those ordinary, every day Australians have had to face in the past few days. The pain, grief and shock on so many faces is unbearable to witness.

But in spite of the sometimes wild nature of our great brown land, I would never live anywhere else. I'm proud of how everyone has gone to the aid of all those victims and I heard that ten million dollars has been raised in less than a day. In these tough economic times that is just sensational.

Romany Angel:
Oh Angel, I don't mind telling you that I was shedding tears this morning as the full story unfolded.

I'm fortunate to travel the world and there are some wonderful places and people... but there's only one home and my heart is firmly rooted here in Aus.
